A typewritten manuscript describing Apple's war experiences with the 98th Bomb Group. He includes accounts of basic training, flying combat missions as a radio operator, and bombing missions to the Ploesti oil fields and Innsbruck, Austria.

Apple is a native and resident of Indianapolis, Ind. During World War II he served in the Army Air Force in the 98th Bomb Group as a radio operator and aerial gunner and saw duty in Romania, Austria, Hungary, Greece, and Germany.
